Remodeling of the respiratory system in tobacco-smoking (review of foreign literature)
Abstract
The analysis in the review presents data that tobacco-smoking impacts all structural elements of the respiratory system causing inflammation, disorder of microcirculation, fibrosis of the mucosa of the large and fine respiratory ways, increase of cancerous- embryonal antigen in the blood serum. Active and passive smoking enhances these changes, inducing further lesions of the respiratory system. A number of pathologic changes in the bronchi is of irreversible character even after cessation of smoking. Immune- histochemical analysis and morphological investigations of bronchi bioptates is of great significance for the timely diagnosis and choice of treatment tactics.
