Abstract

The study is based on analysis of morphological examination of the parts of the acetabular labrum, which were extracted during arthroscopic partial resection and hyaline cartilage of the femoral head that was removed during osteochondroplasty in patients with coxarthrosis stage I-II and femoral-acetabular impingement (n = 105) or during hip replacement surgery due to coxarthrosis of III-IV stage (n = 29). Morphological studies indicate that in 94.3% of cases, changes occur due to the damage to the acetabular labrum of traumatic origin, and only at 5.7 % of cases an idiopathic coxarthrosis with primary degenerative changes in hyaline cartilage of the femoral head were identified.
