Peculiarities of seminal vesicles morphogenesis in 5-month-old fetuses

Abstract

The peculiarities of morphogenesis of seminal vesicles in 5-month-old fetuses are investigated in the article. During the 5th month of intrauterine development the seminal vesicles are usually cone-shaped (25 cases) while fusiform (9 observations), cylindrical (5 cases) and S-shaped (1 case) ones are rarer. The right seminal vesicles is 2,35±0,19 mm long, 1,23±0,11 mm wide and 0,91±0,05 mm thick. The dimensions of the left seminal vesicles are: 2,55±0,24, 1,34±0,1 and 1,09±0,07 mm respectively. Complications of the external and internal structure of seminal vesicles were noted on the basis of studying the series of histological sections of seminal vesicles in fetuses with 136,0–155,0 mm of crown-rump length and plastic reconstructions made from them. At this stage of development the expansion of seminal vesicles cavities is more expressed, the efferent duct is clearly identified. The microscopic investigation of histological sections of seminal vesicles with 165,0–185,0 mm of crown-rump length revealed an uneven expansion of their cavities. In some areas, the diameter of the latter several times exceeds the average dimensions.
